I appreciate that you pretty much have them lined up in order of recruitment, but you skipped the late 90's recruits, Marrow, Maggot, and one of my personal favorites, Cecilia Reyes. I'd be interested in how you'd translate her into this aesthetic with more practical, combat medic-inspired look.
I stopped at Jubilee actually and just decided to add Sage since she actually came in at the same time as the original five but as a spy. I'm still currently doing a villain set so I might not be able to do the others just yet.
On Cecilia, she is a bit more open to interpretation since she didn't really have an iconic costume
Something about Logan here seems off. At least compared to the other characters. Like you took the WatXM head and slapped it on a kid's body. Maybe make him a bit buffer. Aside from that, love the redesigns
F***. For a minute I thought these were concept artwork for a new TV series and I got so damned excited. While my dreams have been crushed for the moment I must commend you on this excellent array of awesome individuals.
You should do Blink both the original pink version and the new version from the movie, Marrow, Mimic, Morph, Maybe Jubilee with a full yellow trechcoat and a blk top. Or one with the kids of the X-men, have Cable where Cyclopes is, Rachel Summers where Jean is, Nocturne where NC is, X23 and Daken where Wolverine is, Rogue's son with Magneto, and you could come up with a kid that Angel and Psylocke and/or Rogue would of had, Colossus and Kitty Pryde, Forge with Storm or Mystique, the twins that Rouge had with Gambit, Havok and Paloris, Banshee could have his step son Proteus in his place.
This Completely says how much Disney animation Needs to step it up, just to compete with the great animation that WB has been putting out!!! Come On Disney, get your Heads out of your Wallets & start putting out Great 2D animation like Walt use to do!!
You should do a Jamie Madrox/Multiple Man design, a Strong Man design, switch Banshee to Theresa, and then pitch this as an X-Factor tv series with Havok, Polaris, Multiple Man, Strong Man, and Banshee. Seriously. This could actually be a thing.
Seriously. This is amazing. There are several very smart design choices you made in creating these costumes. They also all seem very cohesive while still maintaining a bit of originality per character. Cyclops, Gambit, and Jubilee are my favorites. I would have given Storm a mohawk because Ororo is always cooler with a mohawk.
These are begging to be made into action figures. I could seriously see these as being some type of X-men evergreen toy line. (An Evergreen toy line, if you don't know, is one that takes influences from different forms of media while not actually being exactly representative of one movie, cartoon, comic series, etc and is treated as a staple toy series on store planograms) Since the body styles are all pretty much the same, and many details such as the upper torsos or arms are the same aside from coloring for many characters, there could be significant part re-use for figures. That's one thing toy companies look for since it cuts costs dramatically.
Ah... I'm rambling as I daydream about seeing these as action figures on a store shelf
